Analisis Lanskap Linguistik pada Papan Tanda di Ruang Publik Rinku Town, Osaka, Jepang

This research examines the linguistic landscape of public signage in Rinku Town, Osaka, Japan. Public spaces serve as arenas for communication, where signage plays a crucial role in conveying information effectively. This study focuses on the informational functions of the signages. Through qualitative methods such as observation and documentation, five types of public signs were analyzed based on their type and informational function. The findings reveal that signage in Rinku Town exhibits a simple yet informative design, with color distinctions giving two different informations. Additionally, mascot usage contributes to local identity representation. Language variations in signage are observed depending on the function of the places, with some including both Japanese and English and illustration for accessibility purposes. This study highlights the communicative significance of public signage, emphasizing its role in shaping linguistic landscapes.
